Kanda Shasti Festival Begins; Chennai Special Train Service Announced!

The Kanda Shasti festival at Thiruchendur Subramaniya Swamy Temple, celebrated annually with fervor, commenced this year with Yaga Saalai Puja on the morning of the 13th. Tomorrow evening, the highlight event, Surasamharam, will take place on the beach. Tiruchendur is bustling with devotees, attracting lakhs who gather to witness the ritual. Enhanced police security is in place for the occasion.
To facilitate devotees` travel, Southern Railway has announced a special train from Chennai departing tonight at 11:55 PM, reaching Nellai tomorrow at 12:45 PM. The return journey will depart Nellai at 10:10 PM the following day, arriving in Tambaram at 12:45 PM on the 19th.
