4,000 MW thermal power plant in Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu Government will set up a 4,000 MW thermal power plant in Ramanathapuram district. This was announced by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on Tuesday. She said said the mega power project would come up at an outlay of Rs.24, 000 crore. Ramanathapuram lies around 550 km from here.
3,000 acres of land for the project had been identified and work would start after getting necessary approvals.
