Malabar Gold and Diamonds will open 22 new showrooms in India, the Gulf and the far East. The move comes as a celebration for its 22nd anniversary. The company hopes to open as many showrooms in the next 6 months. This will bring the number if showrooms to 155. Malabar hopes to have 300 outlets by 2020.
Currently one among the top 5 jewellery retailers worldwide, Malabar Gold and Diamonds has an annual turnover of Rs. 26,000 crore. It will expand its manufacturing centre at Kerala`s KINFRA Industrial Park, and open up more centres in the industrial parks un Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Gujarat.
An official from the company said, With gold prices remaining low, we see a strong buyer and investor interest for the yellow metal and diamonds.
