Commuting along the OMR in Chennai has become tough now!!
Life in Chennai has become very tough these days regarding commuting especially.
It is known to us that CMRL`s Metro rail phase 2 works have been going on at OMR or Old Mahabalipuram Road or Rajiv Gandhi Salai in Chennai. Point is that 6 lanes and service roads on either side are being used by 2.5lakh vehicles every day.
These days, many residents of Chennai have been finding it tough to navigate along the OMR from SRP Tools to Navalur especially in the peak hours. According to a Siruseri resident, OMR has become heavily damaged due to the works. He added that repairs have not been taken up well. He concluded that he avoided Padur and Kelambakkam and preferred the internal road to reach the connecting road if he wanted to go to ECR or East Coast Road.
