With the Tamil calendar months of Thai having started today (Pongal festival day), the minimum temperature recorded in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry has started showing a trend to increase.
The Tamil calendar month Margazhi concluded yesterday (14th January, Monday, Bhogi festival) and the month of ‘Thai’ has commenced on Pongal. The chillness prevailing in these areas has also shown tendencies to go away!
Presently there is an increasing trend of the minimum temperature recorded.
The Chennai Meteorological Centre officials shared in this regard: ‘Presently, the direction of sunlight falling on earth has changed. Due to this, the winter season is drawing to a close and te climate has started moving over to the summer season. So, the minimum temperature will tend to increase gradually from now.’
