It has been informed that a dry climate will persist in the State of Tamil Nadu until 13th January!
In a notification released by the Chennai Regional MeteorologicAL Centre in this regard, it is mentioned:
"As of yesterday (Monday, 9th January), 7 cm of rain has been recorded in the districts of Thirunelveli and Cuddalore, As regards the extent of heat in the morning sessions, a higher temperature has been recorded in the districts of Coimbatore and Nagappattinam and Karaikkal as s compared to the normal temperature!
A temperature lesser than the usual average temperature by 3 Degrees Celsius has been recorded in the districts of Chennai, Ramanathapuram and Karaikkal.
Due to the changes in the speed of the easterly winds, a dry climate will prevail in the State of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry until 13th January.
As regards the Chennai Metro City and its suburbs, the sky will remain lightly cloudy. Mild foggy conditions will prevail in the early mornings.
High-speed winds at 55 kmph are likely to blow across the Bay of Mannar and its adjacent areas in the northeastern direction! As such, fishermen have been warned NOT to venture into the sea in these areas!
