Rain to persist for 5 more days in Tamil Nadu

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects for heavy rains in the next 3 days in 14 districts.

In a notification released in this regard by the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, it is mentioned that due to the development of a cyclonic format in the upper layers of the atmosphere, there are prospects for heavy rains in the districts of Thirunelveli, Thoothukkudi, and Ramanathapuram in 1 or 2 places and there are prospects for medium rain in the southern coastal districts. There are prospects for mild rain in the northern coastal districts.

It is further mentioned that on 5th December, there are prospects for heavy rains in 1 or 2 places in the districts of Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagappattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Cuddalore, Kallakurichi, and Ariyalur and there are prospects for medium rain in the coastal districts and mid rain in the interior districts.

On 6th December, there are prospects for heavy rain in Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagappattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Nilgiri, and Coimbatore, and on 7th & 8th December, there are prospects for medium rain in a majority of places.

As regards the Chennai Metro City, the sky will remain generally cloudy in the next 2 days and there are prospects for mild to medium rain in 1 or 2 places.
