Prospects for rain in Chennai Metro City in the next 2 hours!

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there are strong prospects for rains with lightning and thunder in the next 2 hours in 4 districts in Tamil Nadu including Chennai.
In a notification regarding this released by the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, it is mentioned:
“Due to the phenomenon of the thermal convection, there are prospects for medium rain with lightning and thunder in the next 2 hours in the 4 districts of Tamil Nadu - Chennai, Thiruvallur, Chengalpattu, and Kanchipuram.”
It may be noted that it has been raining in several districts in the State of Tamil Nadu over the last 2 days mainly because of the phenomenon of thermal convection!
