If you have thought that currently the city of Chennai is having dry weather and normalcy has returned, then here comes a surprising piece of news!!
The convective activity due to the entry of steady easterlies might bring light rains in Chennai in the next 2 days. This was mentioned by the weathermen.
The weather bloggers were of the view that the Chennai city might not receive heavy rains in this month of December just like it received in November. There might be rain for just a few days this month. It was mentioned by IMD that for the next 2 days Chennai would receive light rains in some localities and the condition of the sky would be cloudy. The maximum temperature would be around31 degrees Celsius and minimum would be around 24 degrees Celsius.
As per a meteorologist, once the system over Bay dissipates then easterlies that were blocked would come back. He added that the entry of warm moisture laden easterlies would result in convection. Yesterday, most of the core places in Chennai had cloudy and overcast skies but some parts in north and south Chennai got sudden rains. Since 30th of November, Numgambakkam and Meenambakkam have recorded zero rains.
