Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that the northeast monsoon rainy season is set to commence in all the southern states of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andhra, Kerala and Odisha.
It is informed that the northeast monsoon rains will persist in Tamil Nadu until 4th November.
Due to the onset of the northeast monsoon rainy season, as there are prospects for heavy to very heavy rains in the northern districts on the 1st & 2nd of November, an `ORANGE ALERT` SIGNAL HAS BEEN GIVEN.
The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed us that on the 1st & 2nd of November, there are prospects for heavy to very heavy rains from Nellore to Cuddalore!
As per the earlier information given by the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, it was mentioned that there are prospects for widespread rains with lightning and thunder in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikkal today (Saturday, 29th October). Further, there are prospects for heavy rain in 1 or 2 places the districts of Cuddalore, Villupuram, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagappattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Pudhukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai, Thoothukkudi, Theni, and Thenkasi and Pudhuchery and Karaikkal.
