The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there are strong prospects for heavy rains in 6 districts today (Thursday, 3rd November).
In a notification released in this regard by the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre, it is mentioned:
"Due to the cyclonic format prevailing in the upper layers of the atmosphere over southwest Bay of Bengal covering Tamil Nadu areas and the adjacent North Sri Lanka areas, There are prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in several places in Tamil Nadu, Pudhuchery and Karaikkal.
There are prospects for very heavy rains in the 6 districts of Pudhukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Mayiladuthurai, Nagappattinam, Thiruvarur, and Thanjavur.
Further, there are prospects for very heavy rains in 7 districts tomorrow (Friday, 4th November) and 10 districts the day-after-tomorrow (Saturday, 5th November)
As regards the Chennai Metro City, the sky will remain cloudy in the next 48 hours. There are prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in a few parts of the city.
The maximum temperature will be 30 Degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 25 Degrees Celsius.
