Chennai and its suburbs would receive heavy rains on Monday, 21st and Tuesday 22nd November due to a depression that might be closer to the coast. Currently, the rains have stopped in Chennai and normalcy has come back. It was revealed by the meteorological dept that on Monday and on Tuesday isolated places in the Chennai, Chengalpet, Kancheepuram and Thiruvallur districts would receive heavy rains. There would be heavy rains in other northern districts of TN too.
In the next 2 days, the low pressure over the southeast Bay of Bengal would move west north westwards and intensify into a depression in the central part of Bay of Bengal. It is expected to move further northwest and cross the coast between south TN and south Andhra.
As a result, there would be heavy rains. The cloudy condition would be there on Saturday also in Chennai and there would be mild rains first and later on there would be heavy rains on Monday. This was brought out by an official belonging to the Met department.
It was mentioned by a forecast for 24 hours that the sky condition would be generally cloudy and there would be light to moderate rains in some places. In the early morning hours, there would be mist or haze. From 20th to 23rd or 24th November, good amount of rains would be there due to the low pressure area and this was as per Mr. Pradeep John, weather blogger. It is learnt that south Tamil Nadu would get moderate rains when compared to north Tamil Nadu.
