Extreme Heatwave Grips Tamil Nadu, Relief Expected with Rainfall Ahead

The phenomenon of changing wind speeds prevails in the upper layers of the atmosphere above the South India region.

As a result of this phenomenon, there are prospects for mild to medium rain from today (Monday, 8th April) in the Southern Tamil Nadu Districts, Delta Districts, and the districts lying adjacent to the Western Ghats Hills and Karaikkal.

There are prospects for mild to medium rain with lightning and thunder in 1 or 2 places in the Southern Tamil Nadu Districts from the 10th of April until the 12th of April.

There are prospects for mild to medium rain in 1 or 2 places in Tamil Nadu on the 13th of April.

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that the maximum temperature may be higher by 5 degrees Fahrenheit from today (Monday, 8th April) until the 11th of April.

Temperatures crossed 100 degrees Fahrenheit in 14 places!

The maximum temperatures recorded up to 5:30 PM yesterday (Sunday, 7th April) in degrees Fahrenheit were as follows: Erode, Thirupathur, and Salem: 107; Namakkal and Vellore: 106; Thiruthani, Trichy, and Dharmapuri: 105; Karur, Paramathi, and Thanjavur: 104; Coimbatore and Madurai: 103; Chennai Metro City: 102; Palayamkottai: 100.
