Chennai to get rains tonight / tomorrow morning (Tamil Nadu Weatherman)

After a long time KTC (Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and Chennai) belt are going to see lot of action today. While Vellore, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tiruvannamalai and Salem will see intense Thunderstorms associated with hails, Thunder and Lightening. Meanwhile Kanyakumari / Nellai will see monsoon rains.
Its been nearly 6 months since last rains happened in many places in the KTC region and with westerlies setting in slowly the convergence shifts closer to the coast. The weak monsoon is helping in formation of thunderstorms while the heat aided by moisture and the long gap are signs that action in the KTC belt will start in a thunderous mode.
Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Vellore, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tiruvannamalai and Salem will all see intense Thunderstorms today with right conditions available. Please dont venuture in top of your building when there are intense thunders happening. Banglaore too might join the party tonight.
Down South Kanyakumari / Nellai belt near ghats will see monsoon rains.

The temp as expected is down today and Its been long time isnt it since we have seen some rains. Though parts of Chennai in the outskirts might get some rains tonight / tomorrow morning. Light rains are possible in the City. The days are getting closer for a Thunderstorms type rains but as of today Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur will get Thunderstorms rains.
Today is ideal day to track the Doppler Radar of Chennai. Towering Clouds are already seen. More update to follow.
