The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate rain in five Tamil Nadu districts, including Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Chengalpattu, and Kancheepuram, until 1 PM today. Mild showers are also expected at isolated locations across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal between December 7 and 12.
A warning has been issued for heavy rainfall in the coastal districts from Cuddalore to Ramanathapuram, as well as in Puducherry and Karaikal, on December 11 and 12. The IMD has stated that a low-pressure system is likely to form in the Bay of Bengal within the next 12 hours, leading to the issuance of a yellow alert for Tamil Nadu.
The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Chennai had earlier predicted significant rain activity in several districts of Tamil Nadu on December 11 and 12. Residents are advised to stay cautious and follow updates from local authorities.
