Tamil Nadu FibreNet Corporation Limited (TANFINET) has announced an opportunity for franchise partnerships to enhance internet connectivity across the state. Eligible entrepreneurs, local cable TV operators, and networking professionals are invited to collaborate in providing reliable and high-quality internet services.
In a statement issued by the Tamil Nadu government, TANFINET emphasized its commitment to bridging the rural-urban divide and promoting inclusive development. "Together, we aim to achieve the Government of Tamil Nadu`s vision of connecting every household with dependable internet access," the release stated.
Franchise opportunities will initially be rolled out across 960 Gram Panchayats in the first phase. This initiative is part of the BharatNet Project, launched by Hon`ble Chief Minister Thiru M.K. Stalin on June 9, 2022, which aims to connect all 12,525 Gram Panchayats in Tamil Nadu with an advanced optical fiber network, delivering high-speed bandwidth of at least 1 Gbps.
Interested partners are encouraged to apply and contribute to transforming Tamil Nadu into a digitally connected state.
