The Tamil Nadu government`s expert panel has given approval for the restoration of 146 ancient temples across the state. In a recent meeting, the committee evaluated the status of these temples and recommended the necessary restoration work required for their upkeep.
Some of the temples include Tiruvaiyaru Janamuktheeswarar, Swamimalai Kashi Viswanathar, Chettipalayam Chellandiyamman of Tirupur district, Eral Nagar Sokkalinga Swamy of Tuticorin district, Pappankuzhi Adikesava Perumal of Kanchipuram district, Ponmar Selvavinayakar of Chengalpattu district, and Tiruverumpur Railway Bhakta Anjaneya Swamy of Trichy district.
The government has stated that project evaluations will be prepared based on the expert committee`s recommendations, and the restoration work will begin soon. The initiative to restore these ancient temples is a commendable effort to preserve the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu and provide an opportunity for people to connect with their history and traditions.
