Thirukkudai Utsavam: Chennai Celebrates with Decorative Umbrellas for Tirupati!

The Thirukkudai Utsavam, organized by the Hindu Dharmartha Samiti (HDS), will take place in Chennai on October 2 at 10 AM, starting from the Sri Chenna Kesava Perumal Temple. This year, eleven decorative umbrellas for the annual Brahmotsavam at Tirupati will be featured in the procession.
Each year, two significant offerings are presented: a flower garland from Srivilliputhur and silver umbrellas, a tradition spanning over 250 years. The procession will begin with special poojas at the temple and conclude with the presentation of the umbrellas to Tirupati Devasthanam officials on October 7. It is important to note that offerings intended for Tirupati should not be included in the procession.
