Muharram falls on 12th Oct 16

The Chief Ghazi has announced that the festival of Muharram is to be practiced in Tamil Nadu on 12th of October 2016.
The Remembrance of Muharram is a day of mourning followed by Shia Muslims commemorating the assassination of Hussain ibn Ali during the Karbala war. On the same day, other Islamic people other than Shia Muslim practice fasting on the tenth day of Muharram month. They thank Allah for defeating King Pharoah and his forces and for having saved Musa Nabi.
Muharram is practiced by Islamic across the world. In the ongoing year, Muharram will fall on 12th October 2016.
