Amazing news!! Now, there is an increase in campus placements in TN Engg colleges

Raring Coronavirus pandemic might have affected the people but it did not have any effect on the campus placements for the students belonging to the engineering colleges in TN. In the year 2020-21, the campus placements have witnessed a 20% to 30% jump despite the Covid-19 infection.
The number of companies participating in the campus recruitment has now increased due to the digital hiring. In the initial days of the pandemic, many top companies were a little hesitant to go for the second round of campus hunt to match the demand for fresher’s but now this has changed totally this time around. Not only premier educational institutions like Anna University, SSN College of Engineering, RMK Engineering College etc had good placement seasons but also various tier-2 engineering colleges.
The pay packets offered to the students belonging to the deemed universities have also increased now. Many IT companies have visited these deemed universities for the campus recruitment of freshers. It is true that the IT companies are now hiring the freshers to train them in niche areas.
Pent up demand plus and digitalisation of operations by IT forms have led to increased hiring. This was brought out by Mr. Supaul Chanda, vice-president of Experis, Manpower Groups IT staffing company. He explained that the company needed many in new areas due to digitalisation and hence more number of fresher’s have been hired. Till the end of 2021, the demand for freshers would be there. Compared to last year, Anna University has witnessed a 20% rise in the campus recruitments now. For the first time ever, as many as 39 companies have recruited freshers from Anna University.
Various companies that had visited this premier educational institute in Guindy for the first time for campus recruitment were Walmart, KPMG, Royal Enfield, Zoom etc. It is now said that the placement season would extend till May month.
