TN governor C Vidyasagar Rao to visit Chennai in connection with promulgation of Jallikattu ordinance

C Vidyasagar Rao who is holding additional charge as Tamil Nadu Governor will be arriving Chennai in connection with promulgation of Jallikattu ordinance. He was supposed to arrive on Sunday but due to urgency he will be arriving today. The Honourable Supreme Court has banned Jallikattu in Tamil Nadu. Strong protests erupted against this ban. The entire student fraternity of Tamil Nadu jumped into the protest. Youngsters and women also joined this severe protest. This protest has created a great impact in the capital Delhi. In view of this, the state and central government discussed the issue and decided to promulgate an ordinance.  The draft ordinance was sent to Home Ministry. It is expected that President Pranab Mukherjee will approve this ordinance today.

At this juncture, Tamil Nadu in charge governor C Vidyasagar Rao will be arriving from Mumbai to Chennai today in connection with promulgation of Jallikattu ordinance. After arriving he will discuss the Jallikattu issue with the Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and officials.
