Ensure the revised rate of allowance according to the 7th Pay Commission, orders Finance Ministry to all the central ministries. This move will benefit over 48 lakh employees.
Giving a bonanza to all the central government employees, last month, the Union Cabinet had approved all the CPC recommendations making about 34 modifications. This will impose an annual burden of Rs 30,748 on the exchequer.
These allowances will come to effect from 1st of July and about 34 lakh civilian employees and 14 lakh defense personnel are to be benefitted out of it.
These recommendations by the central government are published on Gazette of India yesterday.
As per the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, Rs 29,300 crore will be imposed on the exchequer. The allowances are approved by the Union Cabinet that is headed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This will increase overall burden by Rs 1,448 crore to Rs 30,748 crore in a year.
All these allowances are rationalized included in the newly introduced Dress allowance that are to be paid every year in 4 different slabs which are Rs 5,000, Rs 10,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000 in different employee categories.
