Applications are invited from the workers in the industries of cinema, mining and beedi production for building houses with the subsidy offered by the central government.
The Employees Welfare Board, functioning under the central ministry of employees and job opportunities, is processing the revised integrated house construction project to facilitate the workers in the industries of mining/cinema/beedi production.
Applications for the year 2017-18 are invited for the above scheme for the workers explained above.
As per this plan, for the workers from the mining/cinema/beedi production industries not earning more than the monthly income of Rs. 21000, the central government is offering a subsidy of Rs. 1.5 Lakhs in 3 installments – an advance of 25% - Rs. 37500, 60% amount – Rs. 90000 – when the first-floor construction is ready, and the last 15% - Rs. 22500 when the construction is completed.
The candidates who apply as workers from the above industries should have worked at least for a period of 1 year in the respective industry. They should own a land of at least 60 sq metre area. However, a concession is given on this condition for the economically backward sections such as Adi Dravida and Ancient Tribes under the Prime Minister Housing Facility Plan.
Further, the worker and his/her wife/husband should not own any house. The applicants or the applicant’s dependents should not have already applied for housing loans from central/state government organisations. The candidates and his/he near ones should not be beneficiaries of the central-state government housing construction plans.
The applicants must have linked their bank savings account with Aadhar card. The applicants should complete the construction within a period of 18 months.The house should have 2 bedrooms, 1 hall, 1 kitchen, 1 bathroom/toilet and a space reserved for drying clothes.
