Festival season is the time for enjoyment. It is the time when many big-budgeted films get released.

People love to see their favourite stars on the big screens in the festive season in the special shows and for that, they pay huge amounts as ticket price. This issue of high ticket prices for the special shows might not be there in the future.

On Monday, 3rd February, Mr Kadambur Raju, information and broadcasting or IB minister shed light on how the state government has been thinking of fixing rates for the special shows of big-budget films released in the festival season. This decision by the government would clamp down on tickets sold at huge rates for big-budgeted films.

To eliminate the possibility of tickets being sold exorbitantly, theatre owners had requested the government to fix rates for the special shows. It is now said that the revenue to the government would also increase.

A well-known film distributor and exhibitor, Mr Tiruppur Subramanian appreciated the comment of IB minister and said it would be superb if the state government cokes up with the rates for the tickets. He added that the special shows were screened for 2 to 3 actors and huge rates were changed as ticket rates by some theatres for one show. Information is the state government might look into the possibility of creating an infrastructure for ticket sales. It is known that the producers had taken objection to the convenience or internet charges charged by the ticketing websites for every ticket.
