After creating abuzz with its launch in the telecom industry, the Mukesh Ambani Company Reliance Jio is gathering pace for introducing the Fibre to the home broadband service in the country.
It has been in its testing phase in the past 6 months. In this period, Jio has made a clean sweep with its free Jio services including free 4G high speed internet, voice calling, SMS and mobile apps. Jio has absorbed over a 100 million subscribers in this time period. This has severely dented user base and revenues of other telecom majors like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular.
According to reliable sources, the launch of JioFibre will be similar to that of Reliance Jio itself. At present, JioFibre is run in trials in 5 cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Jamnagar, Chennai and Pune. So far, there is no official announcement regarding the launch date of JioFibre. At the same time, there are speculations about the release date however.
Perhaps, Reliance will roll out JioFibre with a preview offer where users will get complimentary JioFibre services for 3 months period. Under JioFibre network connectivity, users get 100 Mbps along with free monthly data of 100GB and all the Jio premium applications come for free. With a cap of 100GB users get 1Mbps speed when used beyond free limit.
It is said that Rs 4,500 towards refundable installation charges will be applicable. The fund will be given back when a customer chooses to withdraw JioFibre network connection.
