As the work for a trial run after installation of necessary equipment and software have been set up in 152 registrar offices with the existing internet facility, the trial run has been started from 17th July registering property data in a few Registrar Offices. This facility has been extended gradually to 152 registrar Offices.
Presently, there are 575 Property Registration Offices in Tamil Nadu.
An official from the Department of Registration informed that those who are interested in registering their properties online can do this from their respective residences or places wherever they are by accessing the internet.
Further, there is a facility to upload all the necessary documents on this website. After this, the particulars of the date and time of official registration will be informed to the applicant. The applicant can visit the Registrar office as per the indicated time and date.
This software has been created by the Department of registration jointly with TCS, the major Information Technology company.
Accordingly, training is being given to the staff about the method of using this new software. These training sessions are conducted on different dates and venues throughout Tamil Nadu, The representatives from the software department explain everything about the operation. This training has been completed in most Registrar Offices.
Meanwhile, for those who do not know how to use the internet, a separate facility will be set up in the Registrar Offices.
The official explained that the process of setting up internet facility was in progress in various Registrar Offices over the last few years.
Now, a test run is being conducted to check the successful operation. The problems encountered are being cleared. The debugging will be completed shortly and by the 2nd week of November, the latest internet facility will be operative in all the 575 Registrar Offices throughout Tamil Nadu.
