The Central Government has released the approval for Aadhar card usage for registration of GST on 21st August.
This latest facility has 2 major objectives:
It simplifies the trade process and the GST related procedure
It keeps fake organizations in the GST-related issues.
If a GST payer chooses the Aadhar card, he/she will get the registration completed within 3 working days (New GST Registration).
Further, there is no need to wait for a physical check-up.
On the other hand, if a person is reluctant to use the Aadhar card for GST registration, he/she will get the registration completed after the scrutiny or verification of the place of trade and the physical check. This may take 21 working days or more.
Note that all Indian Citizens are entitled to this facility.

In the 39th GST conference conducted during March, the GST Council granted approval for Aadhar approval for the GST payers.
As per the prevailing raging coronavirus spread at that time, and the imposition of the lockdown, this approval of the new facility to register for GST using Aadhar card could not be implemented.
