Yesterday, Cleanliness week and Gandhi Jayanthi celebrations took place at the Central railway station in Chennai!!
Yesterday, 2nd October, the Central railway station in Chennai was buzzing with lots of activities.
It is learnt that on behalf of the Chennai Division of SR or Southern Railways both cleanliness week as well as Gandhi Jayanthi celebrations were held at the Central railway station and it grabbed the attention of many there.
Various important personalities who made their presence felt were Mr. Kaushal Kishore, Additional GM of SR, Mr. Vishwanath Arya, Chennai Railway Zonal Manager plus few others.
What activities took place:
It is noteworthy that floral tributes were paid to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhiji. This was followed by a patriotic programme by the employees belonging to railways. This was followed by a 10 minute portrait drawing of Mahatma Gandhiji and autograph drive by famous artist Mr. Sankaralingam.
There were also some sensational and unforgettable photographs exhibited on Mahatma Gandhiji and paintings regarding cleanliness. Certificates and shields were given to the winners who took part in the competitions.
