Residents in parts of Chennai are set to face a disruption in piped water supply due to interconnection work by Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL). The interruption will last from 6 AM on November 20 to 6 AM on November 21, according to a press release from the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB).

Affected Areas:

The disruption will impact several localities, including:

- T. Nagar
- Nandanam
- Chetpet
- Gopalapuram
- Alwarpet

This includes certain parts of the Teynampet, Kodambakkam, and Adyar zones.

Reason for Disruption:

The interconnection work will take place at Chamiers Road and Uthamar Gandhi Salai in Nungambakkam, necessitating a temporary shutdown of water distribution points at Valluvar Kottam, south Chennai, and Kilpauk.

Advisory for Residents:

Residents in the affected areas are advised to:
- Store water in advance for their needs.
- Book water tankers online for emergency requirements.

Street taps and tanker supply will remain unaffected during this period. For assistance, residents can contact the CMWSSB helpline at 044-45674567.

The CMWSSB has urged the public to cooperate and assured that normal supply will resume once the work is completed.
