The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has submitted the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Koyambedu–Pattabiram (Outer Ring Road) Metro extension to the Government of Tamil Nadu. The report was presented by Thiru. M.A. Siddique, I.A.S., Managing Director of CMRL, to Thiru. Dr. K Gopal, I.A.S., Additional Chief Secretary, at the Secretariat in Chennai on February 21, 2025.

This extension aims to enhance urban connectivity and reduce travel time for commuters in Chennai’s western corridor.
