Rare April Storm Batters Chennai, Moves Towards ECR Belt

A rare April storm the first in over 10 years has unleashed intense rainfall across parts of Chennai, with 100 mm recorded in some areas. The storm system is now moving swiftly towards the East Coast Road (ECR) region.
Heavy rains are expected in the following areas:
- Siruseri
- Kelambakkam
- Mahabalipuram
- Ponmar
- Tiruporur
- Thirukalukundram
Residents in these areas are advised to stay indoors and avoid travel unless necessary, as intense downpours and strong winds are likely.
