Neonatal equipment donated to Kanchi Kamakoti Childs Trust Hospital

The Rotary Club of Madras East (RCME), jointly with Rotary Club of San Antonio, Texas, USA, today donated a High End Cerebral Function Monitor, Whole-Body Therapeutic Cooling System and an equipment to start Human Milk Bank for the preterm babies to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Kanchi Kamakoti Childs Trust Hospital (KKCTH), Chennai. The total cost involved is approx Rs 40 Lakhs ( USD 60,000).
Mr. T. N. Manoharan, Chairman, Canara Bank who was the chief guest lauded the efforts of Rotary Clubs connected with this project and said, “Such humane projects are required to ensure that the poor and the down trodden get the best Neonatal care for their babies.” He made a donation of Rs 1 lakh to the hospital.
Rtn. B.S Purshotham, President, RCME said, “The committee at the club has really identified a wonderful project which significantly impacts the growth of premature babies. We at the Rotary Club of Madras East and out partnering club RC San Antonio, Texas, USA are happy to donate these vital equipments to help the babies through the difficult times on Childrens’ Day through our Global Grant Project Rotary International. ”
