IOB Takes Tree Plantation Drive to Fight Air Pollution This World Environment Day

Indian Overseas Bank one of the trusted public sector banks in the country celebrated world Environment Day with the theme `Plant Trees and Fight Air Pollution’. The employees of Indian Overseas Bankenthusiastically participated in the World Environment Day activity by planting tree saplings. Shri.K. Swaminathan, Executive Director, Indian Overseas Bank andShri. Ajay Kumar SriVastava, Executive Director, Indian Overseas Bank inaugurated the “Sapling Drive” by planting saplings at the Staff Training Campus, Indian Overseas Bank, Anna Nagar, Chennai. 

Speaking at the event Mr. K. Swaminathan, Executive Director, Indian Overseas Bank said, “The celebration of this day provides us with an opportunity to broaden our responsibility in preserving and enhancing the environment where we live. This will help spread the message of preserving nature.This year, We have committed ourselves to plant more trees and fight Air Pollution. We believe environment conservation is not just a one-day commitment.We have started planting today for a better and greener tomorrow.”

Indian Overseas Bank has initiated ‘Plant Sapling Drive’ across its branches in the country.  Indian Overseas Bank has sanctioned around Rs.1374.38 crore as Agriloan to the state of Tamil Nadu FY 2019-20 (For Apr’19).
