Whats happening at the Bull Park in Chennai now that is making news?
Not always can we come across a park between residential streets in Chennai, but Anna Nagar is different!!
There is a children`s park present in AD Block in Anna Nagar and many kids come with their parents to have fun. This superb park has got the name Bull Park due to the presence of blue coloured painted bull statue here. It is noteworthy that this park provides the residents a large playground, a walker`s path and beaches to relax. Sounds of kids laughing could be heard in this parka as young boys from opposite residential apartments would come here and play. This children`s park has got many slides and climbing frames, sea saws, swings, merry-go-round etc.
The main issue here is that these equipment are not clean. It was later brought out by a parent from Mogappair (who has brought his kid to play at this park) that the playing equipments here have bird droppings and they must be cleaned well. He added that there is also the issue of mosquitoes at the park.
According to a resident who has been residing in this locality for many years, the area has become noisy now. This is due to the presence of many restaurants, cafes and other shops present here. As a result, there are traffic jams plus parking issues etc here. It is shocking to note that one of the entrances to the park gets blocked by the cars parked outside. Many regular walkers come to the park in the evenings. During the rainy season, the park would get inundated and this would prevent the residents from entering also.
For more than a year, the e-toilets are not been functioning here. This was according to a resident here. The kids find it difficult due to improper toilets. He later spoke about how some of the greeneries here need to be trimmed. He concluded that this Bull Park must try to follow the famous Tower Park at Anna Nagar to improve its facilities. By this, the park would become a delightful one from being a mere functional one now.
