In just 14 days, more than one lakh students have been admitted in the Tn state run schools for the academic year 2024-25.
It must be recalled that on 1st of March TN chief minister Mr. M.K. Stalin inaugurated the government school admissions for the new academic year in Chennai. By this, the admissions have been kick started throughout Tamil Nadu.
The data from the school education department has revealed that till 17th March 2025 as many as 78117 students were admitted to the TN government schools. On 20th March, enrolment crossed one lakh as 106268 students newly enrolling in the govt schools.
According to the directions from the Directorate of Elementary Education, the registration of newly enrolled students is being carried out in the EMIS or education management information systems portal.
The Directorate of Elementary Education has directed teachers to organize awareness campaigns across Tamil Nadu to make sure maximum numbers of students join the state run schools. Not only that, the DEE has also directed the teachers to educate parents on the breakfast scheme of CM for primary school kids, noon meal scheme, Pudhumai Penn scheme, Tamil Pudhalvan scheme, Illam Thedi Kalvi initiative, Ennau Ezhuthum and Naan Mudhalvan scheme etc. The objective was to encourage parents and make them send their kids to the state run schools.
