Launch of superb Kalaignar Kaivinai Thittam or KKT in TN!!
On 18th of April at Kundrathur, Kalaignar Kaivinai Thittam or Scheme will be launched by the chief minister of TN Mr. M.K. Stalin. This was announced by the MSME minister Mr. T.N. Anbarasan in the Assembly.
Objective of this superb scheme:
The main objective behind launching of this scheme would be to support and uplift traditional artisans in TN ensuring inclusivity regardless of social background.
Later the minister explained the distinct features of Kalaignar Kaivinai Scheme and compared it with the Union Govt PM Vishwakarma scheme. It must be noted that the TN scheme offers more comprehensible and accessible support for artisans.
According to Mr. Anbarasan the Union government`s scheme named Vishwakarma encourages caste based professions and might discourage students from pursuing higher education. The students might be forced to take up their family trade.
Inclusive and forward looking Kalaignar Kaivinai Scheme would enable the artisans to choose their preferred trade.
While in the central government`s scheme, beneficiaries would be needed to continue their family profession but in the TN scheme artisans with minimum of 5 years experience could choose from any of the listed trades.
It is learnt that the Vishwakarma scheme sets the minimum age of 18 whereas the TN scheme sets the minimum age of 35. As a result, youths could continue higher education without any disruption.
Another important point is that the centre`s scheme offers only loans with no subsidy and disburses them in 2 instalments but the state scheme provides loans in single instalment with 25percent capital subsidy covering 25 categories of trades.
