Afghanistan won the toss and batted first on a good batting surface. They made 272/8 in their allotted 50 overs. All rounder Hardik Pandya on his birthday yesterday took 2 wickets and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah took 4 wickets.The Afghans did not have a clue against the Indian bowlers and they struggled.

He became the joint fastest along with David Warner of Australia to score 1000 runs in world cup history. They both took just 19 innings to score 1000 runs. Rohit Sharma also broke the long-standing record of 6 tons made by India`s Sachin Tendulkar in world cup history. Yesterday, Rohit scored his 7th hundred and overtook Sachin Tendulkar. The amazing fact is that Rohit Sharma scored his 7 hundreds in the world cups in just 19 innings.
Other records Rohit Sharma created yesterday were he smashed the highest number of sixes in international cricket history and overtook the powerful West Indian batsman Chris Gayle.
