Superb measures taken to improve higher education enrolment in TN!!
Recently, 2 shits plus new courses have been introduced in the govt colleges in TN with the main objective of improving the enrolment for higher education. This was mentioned by the Higher Education minister Mr. Govi Chezhiaan yesterday in the House.
It was brought out by former Higher Education minister Mr. K.P. Anbazhagan that in 2021-22 the admissions to HEI or Higher Educational Institutions came down by 47%. From 2.21 lakhs in 2022-23, the admissions to HEI have come down to 1.94 lakhs in 2024-25.
Mr. Govi Chezhiyan replied to the opposition former higher education minister that the TN govt has already implemented 2 shifts in the govt colleges for sake of more admissions plus 5 new courses were also introduced to attract more students.
It was brought to light by the present Higher Education minister that Dr. J. Jayalalitha University in Villupuram was merged with Annamalai University. This has led to students continuing their education.
