Special Superfast Summer Trains Between Villupuram and Rameswaram Announced
To accommodate the extra rush of passengers during the summer season, Southern Railway has announced the operation of a pair of special superfast trains between Villupuram and Rameswaram.
Train No. 06105 will run from Villupuram to Rameswaram on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, departing at 4:15 AM and reaching Rameswaram by 11:40 AM. The service will be operational from May 2 to June 30, 2025, totaling 35 trips.
In the return direction, Train No. 06106 from Rameswaram to Villupuram will also run on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, departing at 2:35 PM and arriving at Villupuram by 10:35 PM, also amounting to 35 return trips.
The train will feature a special coach composition including:
- 1 AC Three-Tier Coach
- 13 Chair Car Coaches
- 2 Divyangjan-friendly Second-Class Coaches
This move aims to provide greater convenience to summer travelers, especially pilgrims and tourists heading to the holy town of Rameswaram.
