600 lecturers to be appointed in Government Polytechnics – Announcement this month end

600 lecturers in government polytechnics and 145 Assistant Professors in Government Engineering Colleges will be appointed. The announcement is expected by the end of this month.
There are 41 government polytechnics and 8 government engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. Lecturers for the polytechnics and assistant professors for the engineering colleges will be selected through the examination conducted br the Teachers’ Selection Board.
There are two categories in the vacancies for lectrurers and assistant professors– Engineerin and non-engineering subjects such as English, Mathematics, Physiscs, and Chemistry.The qualification for the lecturer’s post in engineering subjects is a First Class B. E. or B. Tech. The qualification for the lecturer’s post for non-engineering subjects in a First Class Post-graduation.
The qualification for Assistant Professor’s post for engineering subjects is M. E. or M. Tech. For the non-engineering subjects, it is First Class Post-graduation. Candidates should have passed SLET (State Level Eligibility Test) or NET (National Eligibility Test). If the candidate is a Ph. D., a pass in NET & SLET is NOT required.
