To put an end to the struggle over a period of time, the Supreme Court gave the judgment to fill up 652 of Computer Instructor posts in government schools via the seniority in the employment exchange.

Fortunately, the eligible computer tutors who have got the teaching job via employment exchange in Government schools need not require taking up the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the Teacher Recruitment Board (TRB).

Since 1999, Computer Science has become the elective subject for Class 11 and 12. The stuff has been hand over to the Electronics Corporation of TamilNadu to render software, hardware and tutors to conduct the classes. This bureau has employed around 2,394 tutors in two phases on contract.

Nearly 175 posts were still open, since many ailed in TRB. Based on the petition filled in the Madras High Court on 12 August, 2013, the judgment stated that the State Government has to fill up the 652 computer tutor posts via employment exchange seniority.

Also, Madras High court has disposed the diverse petition on government decisions on filling the vacancies via TET on 18 September, 2013.
