3,000 Contested Candidates – Vacancies in Central Government Posts

Union Public Service Commission has released the list of 3000 candidates who have cleared the second round tests for the main exam held in December 2013.

Third round of test will be the personality test; who cleared will get the central government services under the categories of Group A and B that includes IAS, IFA and IPS.

The exam pattern for the main exam has been completely altered only during this December 2013, since 1947. It brings lot of anxiety and expectation among the civil service aspirants, stated by Sathya, MD of Sathya IAS Academy. 

Many first-time test participants have cleared the main exam this time; changes in exam pattern has given fresher’s and those who have taken the test prior a level footing, stated by Ganesha Subramanian, founder of Ganesh`s IAS Academy.

Till 2005 the number of aspirants from TN was not too high. Introduction of an ethics, integrity and aptitude parts in the exam helped the participants a lot in yielding high score, S Balamurugan, director of Bala IAS Academy. 

The 3,003 candidates will contend for little more than 1,030 vacancies in the central services. The UPSC will select the candidates based on their recital in a personality test, likely to begin on April 7, in Delhi.
