Employment Exchange offices to soon turn a place of job guidance

All employment exchanges offices present in Tamil Nadu will soon turn into centres for job guidance.
As a first step to implement this change, the central government has eyed on employment exchange offices at Coimbatore and Vellore.
On completion of schooling or college, candidates get themselves enrolled for job positions with government with these employment exchange offices. In case of degree graduates, they can enroll at the district employment exchange office, whereas they will have to approach the state employment exchange office in case of Master’s degree, Engineering, MBBS, law, etc.
As of now, over 85 lakh applications are piled up with employment exchange offices in Chennai, and Madurai. This is now set to turn as job guidance office very soon. In case of government jobs, on an average, 5 candidates compete for a single position. Out of this, the eligible candidate gets the job post. Amidst this, the central government has sorted out plans to improve this and convert these employment exchange offices into job guidance offices.
