It is likely that Indian employers from major sectors will multiply their recruitment by 23 per cent soon.
As per India Skills Report 2015 which was launched at 6th global summit on skill development, travel and hospitality sector will see a hike in recruitment per cent by 50% and oil and gas, power, steel and minerals, will increase the hiring per cent by 38.3%.
The report also highlighted that over 3 lakh candidates appeared for Wheebox employability skill test in varied domains. Out of this count, 62.78% of them were found unemployed.
It is important for the candidates to possess soft as well as core skills. Soft skills include communication abilities, time management, professionalism and team spirits. Core skill is about the knowledge possessed on the domain. This challenge can be met by targeting intervention, and reformation of policies, said Nishant K Roa, MD of LinkedIn.
According to the perspectives of Adi Godrej, chairman of Godrej group, jobs are in plentiful numbers, but it is the skill that lags in most candidates.
