A hot weather alert has been issued for North Tamil Nadu as dry winds from Rayalaseema and interior Karnataka are expected to push into the region, causing temperatures to spike over the next 4 to 5 days. Areas including Vellore, Ranipet, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, and the western parts of interior Chennai are likely to experience intense heat.
According to Tamil Nadu Weatherman, Friday and Saturday are expected to be particularly hot. Chennai Meenambakkam may record its first 40°C of the year, while Vellore has a high chance of crossing 41°C. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions, stay hydrated, and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during peak hours.
