Ertiga - Sensational record by Maruti Suzuki - 2 Million vehicles rolled out in 2024 alone!!
By becoming the first Indian passenger car manufacturing company to produce as many as 2 million vehicles in 2024, MSIL or Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has set an extremely high standard now. This has caught the attention of many. It is now mentioned that this was also a global first for the famous Suzuki Motor Corporation as no other facility in this group has achieved this.
Maruti Suzuki has got a manufacturing facility in the state of Haryana is known. Recently, the 2 millionth vehicle named `Ertiga` was manufactured here. According to the society of SIAM or Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers it was confirmed that Maruti Suzuki was the only OEM or Original Equipment Manufacturer in India to achieve this record.
Important piece of information is that out of 2million units produced by Maruti Suzuki 60% were manufactured at the plants in Haryana and the rest 40% were manufactured in Gujarat facility. Ertiga is the milestone vehicle and it was manufactured at Manesar in Haryana.
Maruti Suzuki has got plans to grow their exports threefold by the end of this decade. This was mentioned by Mr. Rahul Bharti, executive director, MSIL. He added that entering a new market would be an important part of the de-risking strategy. He concluded that with the sustained domestic demand the company wanted to end FY 2025 with 3 to 4% retail growth.
It is noteworthy that the 2 million production milestone by the company is testament to the manufacturing capabilities of India plus the company`s dedication to `Make in India` initiative. This was brought to light by none other than the MD and CEO of Maruti Suzuki, Mr. Hisashi Takekuchi.
He spoke about how the 2million vehicles production in a year reflected the commitment alongside the supplier and dealer partners to drive economic growth. Information is that Maruti Suzuki has 3 manufacturing facilities in places like Gurgaon and Manesar in Haryana and Hansalpur in Gujarat. Point is that the combined yearly manufacturing capacity of these facilities is 2.35million units
The Company is expanding its production infrastructure to cater to the demands at home and abroad. In this regard, Maruti Suzuki is now constructing a Greenfield manufacturing facility in Kharkhoda in Haryana.
By 2025, this new facility would become operational with an initial annual capacity of 250000 units. It is now said that once the facility gets developed fully then it would have a total production capacity of 1 million units per year.
