There are about 50 students who are pursuing a doctorate or PhD programme under the Chief MinIster`s Research Fellowship. The superb piece of news is that the Directorate of Differently Able has expanded the educational financial aid for these students by announcing Rs one lakh each to these 50 students. It must be noted that the department has allotted Rs 50 lakhs overall.
Point to be noted is that the TN govt has decided to expand the scholarship programme for the differently able persons mainly to make a large number of students pursue higher education and expand themselves into the research field. This was according to the notification from the department.
As per some experts and activists of differently able associations it was clear that such a scholarship focused on differently able students would motivate them to do research. It is said that this expanded scholarship could be a stepping stone for the candidates.
Eligibility details:
It must be taken into account that those aspirants who want to get this financial aid must pursue full time or part time research courses or PhD offered only to those students with physical issues. This financial aid scheme could be availed by the students from any recognised institutes across India. As per the notification, there is no income ceiling.
