Schools to Remain Closed Tomorrow Due to Heavy Rain
The District Collectors of Tirunelveli (Nellai),Thoothukudi and Tenkasi have announced a holiday for schools on Friday, December 13, as a precautionary measure due to heavy rainfall.
The deep depression that formed over the southwest Bay of Bengal along the Sri Lankan coast on December 11 has now moved to the Gulf of Mannar and adjoining areas. It is expected to weaken into a depression over south Tamil Nadu within the next 12 hours.
The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. A very heavy rain warning has been issued for certain areas in Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, and Thoothukudi districts.
Students in other districts are eagerly awaiting updates from their respective administrations regarding possible school holidays. Residents are advised to remain cautious and take necessary safety measures during this weather event.
