Schools reopened - A shocker for the school students now across TN
Yesterday, 10th June 2024, the schools reopened in TN after a long summer vacation. The students would have been shocked as they came to know that the number of working days has gone to 220 in this academic year 2024-25.
As many as 19 Saturdays are working days now. In the last academic year, the number of working days was 210. Essential items like notebooks, books etc were distributed to the students on day one yesterday.
The school education minister Mr. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi welcomed the school students for the new academic year. He wanted the students to be responsible citizens. The minister asked the students to give equal importance to sports and other extracurricular activities along with their education.
Information gathered is that about 70.67 lakhs students studying in govt and govt aided schools across TN would get textbooks and 60.75 lakhs would get notebooks. Atlas would be distributed to about 8lakhs students.
Every year, TN govt has been providing 14 essential items for the school students such as textbooks, notebooks, uniforms, footwear, school bag, crayons, colour pencils, geometry box, atlas, woollen sweaters, raincoats, socks and shoes, bus pass etc.
