Sensational!! IIT Madras reinvents B. Tech curriculum for the sake of the students – Most student friendly curriculum in entire India now!!

It is a known fact that getting a seat at this prestigious educational institute is not easy and it requires hours of hard work, total dedication etc from the students.
The news that has come is that on Tuesday, 11th June, IITM re-invented B. Tech degree curriculum for India. The main objective behind this would be to help the students meet the demands of modern and technological developments. Sound`s Incredible right!!
With respect to curricular demand and flexibility, this new reinvented curriculum by IITM is by far the most student friendly curriculum in India. This was as per the statement from IITM.
Information gathered is that the new programme has been revamped in such a way that it would allow early exit of the students from the programme for the sake of freedom etc.
There have been rigorous recommendations by an institute Curriculum Task Force to orient the programme towards employment, research, innovation and entrepreneurship etc.
Amazing features of revamped curriculum:
The academic system has been upgraded by IITM now to provide unprecedented flexibility, increased interdisciplinary learning, hands-on projects and entrepreneurship opportunities as early as in the second year of the B. Tech programme itself. The Director of IITM, Mr. V. Kamakoti mentioned that IIT M would accord highest priority for innovation and entrepreneurship. He threw light about how IITM has launched an ambitious start up- 100 programme where every third day a start-up would be born.
It is learnt that the total number of credits in the B. Tech programme have been rationalised after getting extensive feedback from former students and present students. The wall clock hours of demand per degree has reduced from 436 to 400 hours. By this, the students would be able to explore professional and entrepreneurship possibilities etc well.
Five year M. Tech with B. Tech programme:
Point is IITM also offers a 5 year M. Tech along with B. Tech programme plus other interdisciplinary degrees in domains such as nanotechnology, data science and EV etc. It is said that these degrees could be pursued seamlessly along with the B. Tech degree. There would be no need for branch change hereafter with these major upgrades. To pursue alternate paths, IITM has also an `Early Exit` option available for the students.
4 extra weeks of vacation:
For the students belonging to the first year, IITM offers an improved first year experience with 4 weeks of extra vacation time plus a new recreation course has been launched also. It is superb to mention that the students now have an option of taking an entrepreneurship elective as early as in the second year itself.
